T he Nokia Supernova series, launched by Nokia in June 2008, adds a number of colorful mobile phones to the Finnish company’s assortment. The Supernova phones vary both in price and in specifications. Low-budget as well as mid-end mobile phones are available in this new series. ‘Supernova’ is an unexpected choice for the name of a mobile phone line. It makes the product more recognizable and certainly more personal than a name like 'E-series'. Supernova stems from astronomy and relates to an impressive explosion of a star during which a lot of light is freed. With the Supernova series, Nokia tries to attract the trend-sensitive consumer who wants to show his or her personality through his/her mobile phone. The phones have colorful designs and some of them even have a very bold design.
